'The Head girl of Bromley Beacon Academy Orpington campus for 2017- 2018 is Paige ( Year 8) and the Head boy is Khaiden (Year 7). They received their badges and certificates at the end of the first whole school assembly of the new academic year. It was a complete surprise but I think you can see how pleased they were!'

Bromley Beacon asked students to vote at their own election. It started with an assembly on Wednesday 7th June which included pictures of party leaders and the CBBC election broadcasts so that students got a flavour of party politics. This was followed by a morning of election related learning across the curriculum. Students enjoyed creating art works based on party logos for example. They worked on anagrams and maths challenges relating to the election amongst other learning.
During the afternoon we held a ballot by private vote using the same kind of voting slips as in the General Election. We announced the results of the vote on Friday 9th just as the country found out the main result!
