As part of our SMSC and British Values, we focused on World War One and the Battle of the Somme in particular for our Remembrance Day commemorations this year. A school assembly followed by work in tutor time and in English lessons, allowed the students to focus on the suffering endured by the soldiers and the sheer loss of life. In Flanders Field was the main poem focused on and students created work from this piece.


All schools in the Trust organsied a 'Wear It Pink Day' to raise the awareness of Breast Cancer and raise money for Cancer Research as part of their charity focus for this half term.

The staff and students embraced the day very successfully with full participation by all!!


BBAO celebrated student success this half term with several rewards trips including Go Karting at Lakeside and Chessington World of Adventure. These trips were arranged to celebrate good behaviour, good attendance and outstanding effort in the classroom.


Students from both KS2 and KS3 attended a 3 day training programme with Challenger Troop where they were able to carry out many different outdoor activities as well as sleeping in tents for two nights.

Students who attended stated they thoroughly enjoyed the course and learned a great deal about thermselves!!
