BBAO will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March with staff and students dressing up as their favourite book characters.Competitions will be running throughout the week to encourage our students to be involved in this very important Literacy event.

The students from BBAO went on reward trips in February to say well done for a good term’s learning.

The older students had a great day out paintballing in Orpington; while the younger children experienced some hands on science fun in South Kensington at the Science Museum. The flight gallery was very popular indeed. Everyone had a good day. The next reward trip is already being planned!!!

As part of our SMSC and British Values, we focused on World War One and the Battle of the Somme in particular for our Remembrance Day commemorations this year. A school assembly followed by work in tutor time and in English lessons, allowed the students to focus on the suffering endured by the soldiers and the sheer loss of life. In Flanders Field was the main poem focused on and students created work from this piece.

All schools in the Trust organsied a 'Wear It Pink Day' to raise the awareness of Breast Cancer and raise money for Cancer Research as part of their charity focus for this half term.

The staff and students embraced the day very successfully with full participation by all!!
